MultiTool does not collect anything about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. Nothing you type into the app is sent anywhere.

What the app stores

Everything the app remembers is kept on your device only, in its own private storage:

• which tools you have starred, and which you opened recently
• each tool’s settings, such as your preferred units
• the public holidays you enter into the working-days tool
• the last exchange rates it downloaded, so the converter works offline

Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. None of it is backed up to us, because there is no “us” to back it up to.

What leaves your device

One thing: a request for currency exchange rates. It contains no identifier and no information about you — it asks for today’s rates and nothing else. If you never open the currency converter, the app makes no network requests at all.

Permissions, and what each is for

• Camera — reading QR codes and barcodes. The picture is decoded on your device and is never recorded, stored or transmitted. The camera runs only while that screen is open.
• Nearby Wi-Fi devices, and precise location on Android 12L and below — listing nearby Wi-Fi networks. Android will not return scan results without one of these, because a list of the access points around you can be used to work out where you are. This app does not do that: the results are displayed and discarded, never stored and never transmitted. On Android 13 and later the location permission is not declared and is never requested; on older versions it is asked for by the Wi-Fi screen, and only when you open it.
• Nearby Bluetooth devices — listing Bluetooth devices that are advertising themselves. The app never connects to any of them. It carries the neverForLocation flag, which is a declaration to Android that it does not derive your location from what it finds.
• Physical activity — the step counter, and only that screen.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing from anybody, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
